Priyanka Chopra three avatars in a single day: 2 hits and 1 massive miss

Priyanka Chopra was in Toronto for the international launch of Sarvann.

Priyanka Chopra’s been slowly and steadily carving a niche for herself in Hollywood, and she’s been doing that quite stylishly as well. Sporting some excellent designs with finesse, the Quantico star even won herself the Breakout Style Icon award at the InStyle Awards this year — and she well deserves it. Hey, even Usher said it!

And then pair Chopra’s innate ability to look good in almost anything (and she’s been nailing all her looks in the recent past) with an iconic designer like Sabyasachi, and that’s a match made in fashion heaven, right? Well, almost!

The multi-talented Chopra, who has donned the producer’s hat for the Punjabi film Sarvann, was in Toronto on Sunday (November 20) for the international launch of her film, and made three public appearances in a single day, sporting three varied looks.

Chopra started the day with a visit to a gurudwara in the city ahead of the launch, wearing a pretty pink Sabyasachi suit. The hand-crafted embroidered kurta looked lovely on her and beautifully complemented the occasion. Styled by Ami Patel, Chopra went for an understated look with her hair cascading over her shoulders and simple make-up.

Her second look for the day was a much sharper one, and our favourite. Chopra attended the press conference of the trailer launch in an exquisite ensemble by AM:PM by Ankur and Priyanka Modi. We love the embroidered sequinned long black jacket that was cinched at the waist, giving the Baywatch star a great silhouette, which she wore over a white draped maxi. She complemented the look with a chunky traditional necklace and a pair of nude pumps.

For her third look of the day, Chopra went back to a Sabyasachi ensemble for the dinner with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. And we’re not quite sure what went wrong here, because though the gold sequinned dress looked quite lovely, but the brocade and feathered long jacket are a complete fashion faux pas. Not only does the outfit from Sabyasachi’s recent FirdausFall/Winter 2016 collection with Christian Louboutin look misshapen, but we just can’t get over that feathered bit at the end – and that’s not in a good way.
